i-ching.pro aims to collect as little personal information as reasonably necessary and to be clear about how information is handled when you use the site.

Information we collect

A simple approach to personal information.

i-ching.pro does not require user accounts. You do not need to provide personal information to browse the site, read reflections, use the I Ching consultation or generate a reflection card.

The I Ching consultation does not ask you to enter your question or situation. Your question remains with you and is not submitted through the site.

If you choose to join the Weekly Reflection mailing list, you provide your email address for the purpose of receiving those emails. The signup process uses MailerLite to manage subscriptions and send confirmation and future mailing-list messages.

Weekly Reflection

Email subscriptions

Weekly Reflection subscriptions are managed through MailerLite. Information associated with a subscription may include your email address and subscription status, together with technical or operational information needed to provide the mailing service.

A confirmation email may be sent before a subscription becomes active. You can unsubscribe from Weekly Reflection emails at any time using the unsubscribe option included in those messages.

MailerLite processes subscriber information on behalf of its customers as part of providing its email-marketing services.

Spam protection

reCAPTCHA

The Weekly Reflection signup form may use Google reCAPTCHA to help distinguish genuine visitors from automated submissions and reduce spam or abuse.

When reCAPTCHA is used, Google may process technical information associated with your interaction with the form in accordance with Google's own privacy practices and terms.

I Ching reflections & sharing

Your question stays with you.

The consultation itself does not collect the question or situation you are reflecting on. The hexagram result is generated in your browser from the consultation process.

If you choose to use the sharing feature, i-ching.pro can create a branded image containing the hexagram and reflection. The image does not include a typed personal question because the site does not ask you to enter one.

On supported mobile devices, choosing to share a reflection may open your device's native sharing tools. On desktop devices, the reflection image may be downloaded instead. Any app, platform or service you then choose to share the image with operates under its own privacy practices.

Email & contact

When you contact i-ching.pro

If you contact i-ching.pro by email, the information you provide, including your email address and the contents of your message, may be used to respond to your enquiry and maintain relevant correspondence.

Personal information provided through correspondence is not sold to third parties.

External services

Links and third-party services

i-ching.pro may contain links to external websites, books, resources or services. Those websites and services operate under their own privacy policies and practices.

Third-party services currently used to support features on the site include MailerLite for email subscriptions and Google reCAPTCHA for spam protection. Other services may be introduced as the site develops.

Cookies & analytics

We prefer to understand the site without collecting more information than we need.

i-ching.pro does not currently use advertising or analytics tools that have been intentionally added to track visitors across the site.

Some third-party services used for specific features, such as MailerLite or reCAPTCHA, may use cookies or process technical information as part of providing their services, security or spam protection.

Basic analytics or similar technologies may be introduced in the future to help understand how the site is being used. If that changes the way personal information or usage data is collected or handled, this privacy policy will be updated accordingly.

Your choices

You remain in control of what you provide.

You can use the main I Ching consultation without creating an account or entering your personal question. Joining the Weekly Reflection mailing list is optional.

If you subscribe to Weekly Reflection emails, you can unsubscribe using the link provided in those emails. You may also contact i-ching.pro if you have a question about information you have provided through the site.

Changes to this policy

This page will evolve with the site.

i-ching.pro is being developed incrementally. Features such as analytics, affiliate services or other integrations may change the information handled by the site.

This privacy policy will be reviewed and updated as relevant features or services are introduced.
